The Little Thief

S. loses his job as a baker's apprentice and, in an act of defiance, decides to abandon work for a life of crime. He joins a group of thieves, but his apprenticeship in this new brotherhood turns out to be nothing like the gangster fantasies that drew him there in the first place. Instead, S. gets a taste of a society at its cruelest, where survival means silent submission to acts of humiliation and violence.
